Cedar and I have been training with Becky for about 2 years now with the aim of working in the shooting field.
We both enjoy training be it groups, one to one's or workshops. Becky's lessons are always fun, positive and encourage a working partnership between handler and dog. It's so rewarding when this happens even if it's just on a normal walk.
The e recap we get after every lesson is so useful too as we can carry on with new things we've learned.
I recommend contented gundogs for anyone wanting excellent training for handler and dog.

​After some less than positive experiences with trainers I was somewhat apprehensive about our first 121 but as soon as I got out of the car I knew we were in safe hands!
Perry and I have enjoyed the 121s we've had so far with Becky. She understands just how his spaniel brain works and I have not once felt judged on his behaviour. She explains clearly all the exercises and the notes afterwards really help.
We have four years of not really focusing out and about to work on but are already seeing improvements and all done in a positive way which is so important for our anxious boy.
I can't recommend Becky highly enough I just wish we'd found her sooner.

Phrenia, my working cocker girl, and I started working with Becky a couple months ago online. We’re based in London and while we were keen to do gundog training I had a big logistic issue, as most gundog trainers are in the country side. I contacted Becky as I really wanted to work with her, having done my research on gundog trainers, and was willing to travel 3h to train with her but she was so accommodating and open to different ways of working that she made online gundog training possible for us!
If you do one thing for your dog, get Becky as your trainer! It’s the best thing I’ve ever done for my girl and I. Phrenia’s hunting has transformed under Becky’s guidance and our bond has grown so much by being able to hunt together. When we first started working with Becky I had no clue what I was doing and as a consequence Phrenia was very much a city cocker trying to hunt for herself. Fast forward to two months later we’re actually thinking of taking her beating on a real shoot because she’s showing such great promise. This wouldn’t have been possible without Becky. And above all she teaches in an ethical, loving way without negative reinforcement which for me was a prerequisite as my dog is my family.
I would encourage anyone who wants to learn to communicate with their dog in “their language” and strengthen their bond to get in touch with Becky!

Lessons are well-structured but with flexibility, information is given in a clear manner and support for how to progress on things you learn in class is always given. Highly recommend!

I will absolutely be recommending Becky at Contented Gundogs! we learnt loads and gained a lot from the classes. Even if you don't intend to go on a working shoot, these classes help you work on essential training necessities for having peaceful, controlled walks with your dog in the countryside.
